Thanks for stopping by! My collection of vintage law enforcement badges and patches started around 1981 when I was still in high school. My dad, a Minnesota Conservation Officer (formerly known as Game Warden) and a couple of family friends (a Minnesota State Trooper and a U.S. Border Patrol Agent) gifted me old patches. My collection was born! Back in those days, it was common to write a letter to a law enforcement agency and they would send you a patch. The days of handwritten letters are long gone, but I still have the thrill of collecting!
About a year after acquiring my first few patches, I attended a coin show with my dad. The local Postmaster was selling some of his coins and a couple of old police badges. I purchased an old Chisholm Minnesota Patrolman and Sergeant badge from him for a total of $5.00. I'm not sure my dad was too impressed with my purchase, but I was absolutely hooked! The early days of collecting consisted of anything I could get my hands on. As time went on, my collection has become more refined. Forty years later, my patch and badge collection has become something I would never have imagined.
